I am Dr. Thomas B. McGeachy, and I am honored to serve as the instructional leader of Nash Early College High School (NECHS) - home of the “Eagles.” NECHS is known for its dedication to excellence, as well as the holistic growth and development of all scholars. As the parent of an alumnus, I can personally attest to our faculty and staff’s role in forging the success of every scholar.
Nineteen years ago, I entered the field of education after a 20-year career in the U.S. Army. I have worked as a teacher and administrator, but my most important responsibility in each of those roles was—and continues to be—advocating for young people. I will spend time with our scholars, getting to know their personalities, learning styles, and aspirations. I will celebrate their successes and encourage them every day so that they know they are valued and loved within our “Eagle” family.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (Business Administration) degree from Old Dominion University, a Master of Science (Human Resource Management) degree from Troy University, a Master of Science (School Administration) degree from Elizabeth City State University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
I firmly believe that educating a child is a partnership between the school, parents/guardians, and the community. Please actively join us to help your scholar attain their personal goals. I remain committed to ensuring that all decisions and actions taken at NECHS will be made with the best interests of scholars in mind.
Again, I am thankful to have the honor of serving as the principal of NECHS! I am excited about the successes that await our scholars this year!
